Atmosphere - Strictly Leakage (2007)

Atmosphere - Strictly Leakage

Atmosphere have occasionaly been given ridiculous titles like "emo hip-hop" and while they may, in part, be warranted, the entirely free LP Strictly Leakage is by far their most fun release yet. Strictly Leakage has been described by Atmosphere's own label as "a party album" and it's certainly easy to see why; the music is extremely sunny and the lyrics are largely humourous. Basically, Strictly Leakage is 13 tracks of fun, well-crafted hip-hop and if you are a fan of the genre in any way, there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy it.

James Dean - CD-R (2007)

Hi and welcome to my new blog. I'm going to try to update this at least once a week with a free download. I started this blog because there's a lot of free music on the internet and I've always wished for something that would compile the good stuff in a convenient location. All of the music I post on this blog will have been made free for legal download by the artists. Also, I will pretty much be posting albums, EPs, demos...ful releases basically, though I'm sure there will be the occasional exception. Anyway, I hope someone gets something out of it. First up is...

James Dean - CD-R

While the Australian screamo scene is probably still in relative infancy, there is no doubt in my mind that it is producing some of the best music in the country. James Dean are one of its very best bands, combining clean guitar tones and a strong sense of melody with stripped-down instrumentation and group vocals. Along with Quiet Steps, Quebec, Eucalypt, To The North and plenty of others, James Dean are creating some of the most interesting and impassioned music to come out of Australia for some time.
